It’s actually fog rising up from the snow bank. There was quite a bit of it but only this one patch was captured. Shoreacres commented it was the ghost of Christmas past departing. I think it just might be!
Speaking of ghosts lurking around, is that the ghost of T.S. Eliot I see in your title? The first thing that came to mind was section V of “Little Gidding”:
“What we call the beginning is often the end
And to make and end is to make a beginning.
The end is where we start from.”
The end of an old year is the start of a new — here we go!
Your poetry is so perfect for your photographs! The sun looks so awesome on the snow! Happy New Year wishes, Hugz Lisa and Bear
Your post made me realize that the sunshine and shadows (of our lives) are connected – all is one! <3
Lovely photo, matched with wonderful words. Happy New Year to you and yours.
And to you and yours Libby!
The contrast of darkness and light makes for a lovely shot. Did you know there is a ghostly mist above the gate? Is it a bit of fog on the lens?
I think it’s the ghost of Christmas Past, departing stage right. 🙂

Lovely! Again
The gate! It’s my way into 2017! Thank you for so many inspirations. 🙂
Once again those before me have said just what I was thinking. You bring light and joy into our worlds. Happy New Year today and every day!
