  1. The contrast of darkness and light makes for a lovely shot. Did you know there is a ghostly mist above the gate? Is it a bit of fog on the lens?

    1. It’s actually fog rising up from the snow bank. There was quite a bit of it but only this one patch was captured. Shoreacres commented it was the ghost of Christmas past departing. I think it just might be!

  2. Speaking of ghosts lurking around, is that the ghost of T.S. Eliot I see in your title? The first thing that came to mind was section V of “Little Gidding”:

“What we call the beginning is often the end
And to make and end is to make a beginning.
The end is where we start from.”

The end of an old year is the start of a new — here we go!

  3. Once again those before me have said just what I was thinking. You bring light and joy into our worlds. Happy New Year today and every day!
