when water stops moving
and branches are bare
the bridge will wait for spring
Bridging Seasons
Together
little mushroom family
finding shelter
in each other
Long Legged Birch
a chorus line
standing at the edge
of the meadow and winter
Like Honey
the autumn light
slow and sticky
spreading sweetness
Breathing Room
space between
now each leaf
speaks for itself
Amidst
the wind now bites
but still the light
is a gentle caress
The Stars
a cypress watches
the stars scatter
their brilliance
And Also With You
the light through clouds
bless the landscape
and anoint the trees
Borrowed View
the woods makes
a frame of itself
inventing introspection
As October Thins
color comes
leaves keep leaving
cold starts claiming space
To Become Light Itself
for trees no need to be seen
just the splendor of being
is more than enough
In October
flowers turn for
a lingering look
towards the retreating sun
At Smith Pond
the silvered
sky and lake
a mirror to memory
Shy Sky
day blushed
overcome by its
eminent beauty
A Change of Register
the light
now speaks
in the tones of autumn
Slow
water and the afternoon
meander through
the marsh
In The Mirror Of The Sea And Sky
a lavender gloaming
as day ebbs
towards night
Woods In Morning Mist
I sit and let
the trees teach me
how to breathe
Last Corn Field
planted with extra care
this field saved
for the dear dairy cows
Heading Home
my heart anticipates
each bump and turn
of this known road
Leaves, Reeds, Lilies
autumn
sneaking in
amidst the green
The Wind At Your Back
a gentle guiding hand
encouraging
the moving forward
Wishbone
the river and the tree
share the wish
of deliverance
Rest In Peace
etched upon a fallen tree
another tree was drawn
a beetle’s careful epitaph
Rocky Way
the obstructed path
a lesson in
attention and intentionality
Down The River
only water knows
the future that lies
around the bend
At The Bog
summer flying by
faster than
the wide wide sky
The Day Stretched Out Before Us
its wonders
to be
discovered
Hold On
the obstacle
embraced
and so overcome
Spirit House
presence in absence
a hollow holding
generations of wisdom
