Before I saw the photo I thought you were writing about the Great wall of China! Loved the poem, we have gorgeous Cotswold Stone walls around here and the deer just jump straight over them. x
Hi seedbud–Entranced by your pairings of words and image. Visited your site when you liked a poem on my daily poetry blog. Wondering–how did you ever find my site? Glad you did–otherwise, I wouldn’t have discovered this magical leaf and twig to follow…
I love those old stone walls.
So lovely, both in photography and sentiment! Nice way to start my day!
Oh what a gorgeous metaphor. Thank you.
“dreaming of open fields and hand plows”
That is so, so picturesque and lovely.
Lovely photo, Seedbud. One sees those stone walls all over New England.
What a lovely photo… I haven’t seen snow like this for a long time
don’t you just love old stone walls like that? there is one along the street I walk and I took a few photos of it in the fall…
I do…like old trees they become silent friends to go visit with.
It reminds me of the Robert Frost Poem.
As someone who grew up in New Hampshire, nothing brings forward the image of “bygone days” than stumbling across a stone wall in a forest.
I feel as if I keep saying the same thing. Thank you for sharing your gift – of eyes and heart.
Thank you so much for your comments – they mean so much to me.
absolutely perfect in words and on my eyes
I’m really liking your format, photography & poetry together. Nice stuff!
Beautiful, words and picture 🙂
nice – stone walls have so much character… maybe they will make a comeback some day.
Lovely poetry. I love the stone walls we have here in the north as well. Right now they are covered with flowers rather than snow

nice to see these walls but good point about keeping in or out-like the point of view.
Perfect
I like snow how it sets on things: ground, rocks, trees, branches, earth.
Once again, you have made me homesick for New England …

Hi, Thanks for your visit and kind words. I found you through the wordpress reader. Looking forward to future postings.
Beautiful thought
This brings my years in New England to mind. The stone walls meander all over up there!
nice commentary
And they built all those walls one stone at a time. A tribute to simpler times.
