  1. As Faulkner once noted, “The past is never dead. It’s not even past.” That’s a human perspective, of course. The eagle might be more free to fly into the future without baggage.

  2. a) I didn’t see the eagle until reading some comments, lol, and b) I never thought of it that way — “the last day of the year.” I might be doing some thinking, now. Thanks for being here. Happy 2020 to you!
