  1. I agree with shoreacres about the background, but that also makes me think: these beautiful birds must live in “the country,” right? (Never seen one here in the suburbs) And do they nest near the ground? If not, it is curious to see this one flying so low. Or am I mis-seeing?

    1. They like marshes especially and you often see them perched on a reed or cattail. They nest low often in the marsh amongst the reeds. This particular one was swooping away from the marsh and his cattail perch.

  2. LB – I'm a woman who loves spending time on the motorcycle and in, or on, any body of water. I love traveling and reading, baking and cooking, taking way too many pictures, and enjoying my family and friends. Life is an adventure, and I want to remember and express my joy for it! This is a journal for me ... so I'll never forget the good times and to remind me of them on more challenging days.

Love these birds. Great title, too

  3. nanciec13 – Wisconsin – I am a fabric artist and a professional minister in the Catholic Church. I am married for 40+ years to a most fabulous man. We have 4 adult children, 2 daughter-in-laws ( who we also consider to our children!) and 4 grandbabies. I love to weave, paint silk, sew and design garments for myself; bead, read, write and color. I am also a spiritual Companion/Director and have a special place in my soul for women who are healing and in need of healing from trauma and abuse. I love coffee, quiet reflective prayer time at my kitchen table and long walks to breathe in the Holy Spirit. I would like to learn how to spin yarn and will someday create a spun, hand dyed/painted, beaded, woven fabulous garment of peace!
