a marriage of powers
the storm and sunset
betrothed to each other
At Dusk
Amidst
the wind now bites
but still the light
is a gentle caress
During Seed Season
ripen into lightness
travel on the wind
root where landed
Onto The Next
two leaves together
begin their disappearance
a journey towards eternity
The Stars
a cypress watches
the stars scatter
their brilliance
Echos
one small leaf
containing the changes
of summer to fall
And Also With You
the light through clouds
bless the landscape
and anoint the trees
The Leaves
each to
its own
angle of repose
Borrowed View
the woods makes
a frame of itself
inventing introspection
Form Follows Function
spiky protection
guarding seeds for surety
of further bloom
As October Thins
color comes
leaves keep leaving
cold starts claiming space
To Become Light Itself
for trees no need to be seen
just the splendor of being
is more than enough
Calling Out To Autumn
dahlia duels
with red maples
for fall’s pride of place
Remnants Of The Wind
carried to the ground
each a place holder
of this fine fall day
Grounded Rainbow
the earth
rejoicing in
terra firma’s colors
In October
flowers turn for
a lingering look
towards the retreating sun
At Smith Pond
the silvered
sky and lake
a mirror to memory
Shy Sky
day blushed
overcome by its
eminent beauty
Berries
awaiting winter harvest
by our feathered
permanent residents
A Change of Register
the light
now speaks
in the tones of autumn
Little Red Mushrooms
vibrant spots of joy
in the browning landscape
Slow
water and the afternoon
meander through
the marsh
Give What The Other Hasn’t
soft moss caresses
the hard edge of granite
this is how ease is made
Autumn Meadow
color concentrates
life consolidates
ever renewing as seed
Friends Passing By
nasturtium’s yellow
calls out hello
to turning aspen leaves
High And Low
rocks receiving
the eternal cycle
of the tides
In The Mirror Of The Sea And Sky
a lavender gloaming
as day ebbs
towards night
Sunrise Silhouette
the new day’s light
the ripples on the water
the heron’s stealth
movement condensed
A Luminosity Of Grace
be still
and the light
will dance upon you
Woods In Morning Mist
I sit and let
the trees teach me
how to breathe
