autumn sets her table
for woodland creatures
with delicious decorations
Berry Beautiful
The Fall
colors being absorbed
by roots
already nourishing spring
Good Luck Found
at the end of autumn’s rainbow
the forest filled
with gold
Good Manners
this autumn leaf flittered and flew
delivering a personal goodbye
to each remaining hour
Evergreens
as colors wane
the pines step forward
offering their constant camaraderie
The Fading
the meadow so recently
buzzing and bustling
now nearly a still life
Never Lonely
two by two
horses and ponies
exponential companionship
The Happenstance Of Circumstance
this side so lush and green
autumn on the opposite shore
place dictates everything
Autumn Leaf On Pebble Beach
the delicate landing of a fallen leaf
the pebbled shore in conversation with the waves
the dog and I witnesses to all creation
The Transfer Of Color
trees emptied of leaves
so an autumn sunset
colors the sky
In The Sweet
autumn leaves
coated with
honeyed autumn light
Fairies Autumn
mostly fall is raucous color
but at a small enclave near the brook
shy leaves blush hues of pink
Crescendo
if colors could be heard
this maple offers
a triumphant cymbal’s crash
The Hurried Hush
autumn days quicken
keeping pace with the meadow’s
movements of light and color
Color Hunting
leaf peepers
big buck
the red, red maple
Pumpkin Tracks
a gathering of gourds and pumpkins
like patrons at the train depot
awaiting their ride through autumn
The Gilded Season
autumn’s garden palette
favors purple and peach
enhanced by obliquely slanted light
Right Behind Us
perched in bare branches
just over his shoulder
is autumn then winter
The Garden Crests
a yellow wave of color
crashes upon
the shore of fall
Hellenium Autumnale
like angels gathered
in their halos of gold
chaperoning the season’s change
In Exchange
color leaving leaves
to redden berries and set the seeds
the bargain that autumn demands
From Above
reprieved from freezing
a sun warmed soup
of autumn’s leaves
Stillness
the lichen
and the leaves
find their autumnal repose
Cattail Cotton Candy
sweet stuff
spun out of
light and life
Wearing The Blush Of Cold
succulent roses
tenacious as barnacles
cling to the end of autumn
Fall Bids Us To
wake up and embrace
the glorious beauty
of every fleeting moment
Invitation
autumn left
the gate open so
summer’s end could enter
Combinations
this morning held everything
each possible
presence and absence
Glancing Back
you notice me
eavesdropping on
your song
Like Honey
luminous autumn light
sticks to every
leaf and twig
