Having just returned from the Everglades, where I saw in a path under a canopy of mangrove trees the bared bones of those rather amazing “walking trees,” I can’t help but see in this photograph long legs and hoofs being carefully respectful of the delicate lives beneath them. Great lesson for all of us: adapt and accommodate. Thank you for the reminder!

    1. Oh! I see that too now Albert. Thank you! I’ve never been to the everglades but somehow think it is one of those places (like New Orleans) that is exactly as I see it in my mind’s eye. And for whatever reason the phrase “canopy of mangrove trees” makes me swoon a little.
