  2. derrickjknight – UK – I am an octogenarian enjoying rambling physically and photographing what I see, and rambling in my head as memories are triggered. I also ramble through a lifetime's photographs. In these later years much rambling is done in a car.

  3. and again–sometimes it’s a gorgeous photo, sometimes it’s a beautiful poem–and sometimes, like here, it’s the perfect combination of the two–like a clasp fitting together, or an acorn packed with poem and picture hidden in the grass that you picked up and brushed off to show the rest of us. Thank you for sharing your wonderful gift

  6. chelawriter – I thought retirement would give me more time to write, but as with may others, my experience of retirement so far is that it is far busier than my employment years. Two wild fires with evacuations and extensive damage to my home have not helped. Repairs are almost complete, and fingers crossed things will settle down so I can post more often.
    chelawriter says:

There are lovely ranges of silver to deep orangy golds here in the west but precious few reds. Thanks for the glimpse of remembered autumn from my childhood on the East coast. This is the only few weeks when I feel a loss, and not one serious enough to alter my love for where I live now.

  7. Another lovely and apt picture and poem. I look forward to your work every day. It is a blessing. thanks jlehman1945 come see mine and we can support one another jlheman1945

  8. lyart – Berlin, good old Germany – I let my mind wander and it didn't come back (Calvin & Hobbes by Bill Watterson) Born and raised in rural Styria, Austria, all I ever wanted, was to get away to the next, bigger city. Only ever made it to Berlin, where I have lived the past 30 odd years. As soon as I escaped small town Austria and Jehovas witnessism, I made up this fine plan to first take Manhattan, then to take Berlin... But I allowed myself to be trapped once more. In an ill-suited marriage. At least, this gave me the opportunity to travel the world, fall in love with Scotland, change my profession from photographer to golf course manager and relocate to Berlin, skipping Manhattan. Now well into my late fifties, I have learned this: 1.) there's nothing better than a good friend 2.) it feels better to live at peace with oneself than always fretting over the road not taken 3.) I am a country girl after all, Berlin notwithstanding. This knowledge doesn't stop my mind from wandering at times. This is, where you, the big cyber lot, comes into the picture. Over the years online, I have found it very rewarding to share en route, where my mind takes me to. Hope, the same goes for you... ...and for those who wonder, if the image I chose to represent myself, is actually me: nope, but boy, do I wish it were! It is a painting by my favourite artist, Lita Cabellut.
    lyart says:

    I’d have thought, this is a painting…

  9. firefly1275 – Louisiana – V. Rose enjoys creating mystical characters and worlds, with a touch of the modern day world. When she is not writing or thinking up her next story ideas, she is enjoying South Louisiana sunset.

  10. Cynthia Guenther Richardson – Pacific NW – Hello fellow readers and bloggers, Writing has always been a powerful connector to diverse ideas and people. We each are a meaningful part of this beautiful, ever-widening web of life. Blogging enables more interaction, which I love even after 11 years of blogging posts on three different sites. For thirty years I was an addictions/mental health counselor and also a manager of home care services for elderly folks. Now that I have hit 70 and am more devoted to a creative life! I've published online or in literary journals/collections several times, including fiction and creative non-fiction pieces and poetry over five decades. Additionally, I was nominated for a Pushcart Prize for an excerpt of my novel-in-progress, Other than Words (the work gathering dust at present), about a mute dancer and her impact on her adopted community and a world-travelling photojournalist. I also am working on a connected set of stories about a close-knit town in northern Michigan. On Wordpress I enjoy writing about living richly despite (or because of) life's setbacks and a diagnosis of heart disease at age 51. Posts tagged "memoir" share spiritual adventures, interactions with nature, the healing of trauma's impact and challenges of writing full-time. Short stories and creative nonfiction, and poetry are favorite genres but I enjoy sharing my photography as well My hope is my offerings reflect a profound faith in God and our humanness which cloaks spiritual natures. I include myself as part of the diverse group of writers who discover and share the illuminating, positive experiences amid life's uncertainties and hardships. Let me hear from you when you visit--I appreciate your comments a great deal. Blessings and regards, Cynthia
