There has been a large flock feeding in the tree and on the ground. They have gotten rather tame and I can just stand on the porch and shoot away – which I have been doing quite a lot. When eating off the ground they tend to toss them up into the air rather than just take one from the snow. Who knows why…maybe just in the spirit of fun. This was just one of those magic moments – a ‘happy accident’!
Isn’t it fun to catch a bird eating? I was so thrilled when my pix of the mockingbird eating the viburnum berries came out. I love that “Ohhhh” moment when a “magic” picture that I have downloaded pops up on the screen for the first time.
What a perfect sentiment for this wonderful photograph 😉 One of the joys of winter- the nearly tame hungry little birds. I hope spring finds you soon 😉 Best wishes, WG
I so often enjoy your posts but never see the ubiquitous ‘like’ button that I would use to indicate “thank you for this little moment of happiness you gave me” — but you forced my hand with this one! I HAD to comment to say wow and thanks:)
Beautiful! 🙂

Great timing. How long did you have to wait to get this shot? I especially like the snow still on the berry. Keep up the great work!

I have only seen a wild Cedar Waxwing once. It is one of my favorite birds, and you captured a special moment with it. Transcendental.
