Lovely work! Sometimes with birds you have to wait for quite a while before you get your shot. It takes some patience. Some food for the birds surely help 🙂
Hello, leaf and twig. I have been following you for over a year or more. I always leave a like and enjoy your pictures and poems so much. I think I have commented a few times in the distant past. I don’t think I have received a visit from you or a like. That is OK. You have so many followers I know it must be difficult to visit them all. I am thinning out my following list and will be saying goodbye to you. The best in the coming year.
Keep those superb photos coming! (I’m so glad that birds miraculously survived the mass extinction event that wiped out all of the other dinosaurs! Birds, of course, are a type of dinosaur… and it’s probably their small size that saved them.)
Hoping you have a healthy and enlightening New Year!
Sharon, thank you for all the sharing/reblogging you’ve done – and for letting me know. I really appreciate it. Wishing you all of the very best in 2015. Cheers, Catherine

There is one pigeon that can only survive by eating the fruit of a particular plant… the link doesn’t say which plant though.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/White-crowned_pigeon – They are a protected bird. Found in the Florida Keys.
I went to the state park site that we visited but couldn’t find the plant/ berries/ fruit that it eats.
Best to you and yours! Hugs Jules.
excellent shot and happy New Year to you

Beautiful photo!
Great shot. I am wanting to create a seeding and water station near a flower bed this year. Hopefully I can get some great remote shots.
Fantastic close up of this sweet little chickadee! I depend on these sweet little songbirds to entertain me all winter long!
Me too!
Very cute. The poem captures the essence of a chickadee so well!

Sweet little bird, and pretty hardy too. 🙂
