When I first glanced at your posting, I thought “Oh! A typo error” Then I looked more closely: Is the butterfly “caught” in the muddy ground, and perhaps you are mourning it’s demise? Beautiful colouring, but still, I prefer your mournful description.
I’ve seen a lot of butterflies and bees around already in the Cotswolds. That one is new to me x
