  1. Words are powerful. Images are powerful. Your words and images together are a powerful moving force that reflect your soul. Beauty. Thank you for sharing!!

  2. Susan Feniak – Salmon Arm – I am an artist. I live with my husband on the shore of Shuswap Lake in British Columbia Canada. If my art makes you smile then I have succeeded in my quest to make this world a happier, brighter place.

    Lovely

  3. Gretchen Del Rio – Crestline, California, USA – I first discovered the magic of water based colors when many years ago I began to paint with procion dyes on silk. I loved the unexpected quality of the process. It was so exciting to never be sure what the colors and water would combine to produce. It seemed as though the medium had its own passion. Painting with watercolors and paper is much the same. I love the color combinations and separations that occur spontaneously as the color floats on the water. You can never totally predict what effect will result. If you try to control the medium too much, your painting will be very tight losing its aliveness. The artist must be bold and decisive or the work will not be clear and fresh. It is really like a dance. It becomes a controlled folly in knowing when to let go and when to take charge of the direction that the painting is taking. The images that I paint reflect my emotions and are expression of my life experience. They are not extensively planned, but rather evolve as the painting progresses. I am always surprised by the end result since it comes into being because of what the medium and emotion has suggested. The paintings are from my heart and I always fall in love with the subject. I believe that we are all connected and, if an image touches you, it is because we all have the same heart even though our paths may be different. Most of all, painting what I paint makes me happy. The paintings are my own path unfolding. They are an opening door for me and contain my own passion for life.

    Love this time of day.

Saving up for that first DSLR :} Interests: photography, tech, the Internet, reading, film. Many photos here are available for PURCHASE as 5x7 and 8x10 prints. photo: surreal and otherworldly — I really like it

  5. Fray – UK – My first recorded bit of travel writing would be a letter to my brother from a lonely German train station in 2000. The memory of rewriting the lyrics to Simon and Garfunkel's 'Homeward Bound' whilst feasting on a juicy kebab is still just as vivid today. If you're looking for step by step travel guides, I'm sorry... I'm not very good at them. But if you want genuine stories from the road, tales of extreme happiness and an equal portion of grim times, or even just some tips and ideas of what not to do abroad... then you've come to the right place. Any suggestions, corrections or ideas for collaborations... give me a shout. Enjoy yourself

  6. Rene Yoshi – Just a transplanted Okinawan-French Southern girl with a wee bit o' Irish, sharing photography and what I'm learning about spiritual things, including putting off legalism and religious traditions, and embracing God's matchless love, tender mercy, and amazing grace!

    Beautiful abstract!

  7. MJF Images – American Pacific Northwest – A photographer and writer, I have been a geologist and also a science teacher in the past. I am a diehard explorer, traveler, and nature lover who lives in Portland, Oregon. I'm curious and excited about most things around me, especially people, natural science and diverse cultures. My photography tends toward landscape, nature/wildlife, and people (candid and lifestyle). But I'm always exploring new subjects. This blog will be about the story behind the pictures, but not generally about the photography behind the pictures. There will be talk of photo techniques only on Friday Foto Talk installments. Most times I will feature aspects of the places and people themselves, not like so many blogs just the photography. I'll be giving some practical advice on visiting the areas I photograph, so it might look a bit like a travel blog at times. But I will also go into the geology for landscapes, into natural history for wildlife and nature, into culture both modern and ancient for travel/people, and so on. I won't be giving you a blow-by-blow on how I took the picture, and never will I be a cheerleader for a certain type of gear, don't worry. I hope you enjoy it, and remember, keep exploring this beautiful world we share, and take good care of it too!

A very nicely done image and thought.

  8. simon7banks – Harwich, UK – I write poems and stories, often mystical or fantastical. I believe very strongly that poetry is an art of the spoken word, so the sound of the words is important: so please say my poems aloud, if only in your head. I live in the U.K., in Harwich, Essex, but have worked in Kenya and Finland, and travelled to many other places. This is my literary blog. I'm also a Liberal Democrat political activist, birder, long-distance trail walker, real ale drinker and Quaker.

    What a fantastic, evocative picture!

  9. Rmary – I'm retired and loving it. After working in data management for many years, I am now able to pursue all my favorite things. I love photography, gardening, painting, yoga, and generally having fun with all my "silver" friends. Life is good!

    Love this photo!
