  1. I am saddened when I see old farmhouses, and old disused farm equipment…..so much history being consigned to the rust heap.
Thanks for highlighting their rugged beauty.

  2. There were lots of these ‘retired workers’ on the West Coast, South Island, when we lived – some with trees growing up through them. I did take some photos, but didn’t have a digi back then

  3. Fitting title and text. Beautifully done! It is a real tribute and appreciation to the times, equipment, and people who have come before us.

  4. This is a wonderful shot. Retired? Yes, but also at rest, which isn’t entirely a bad thing. I feel a sense of dignity in the shot and I appreciate that.

Thank you for visiting my site!

  5. Reminds me of the collection of old farm equipment i have on my homestead in eastern Washington. I don’t know if they’d still work they might and just seeing them fills me with awe at the work people put into the land to make it fruitful and able to provide for them. What a legacy! Beautiful and evocative shot.

  6. I’ve always liked rural scenes and rustic equipment that have been such a big part of the pioneer spirit of those that worked the land.

  7. This is a great site to start my new year with a smile – it reminds me of the quiet wonders of the world: much of your text is sublime. This particular image has a resonance with my own work which you may enjoy?
