leap of faith
the heron’s flight
all my dreams are carried
At The Elegant Edge
outside the spotlight
of sunshine and sparkle
the silhouette of elegance
Wild Ways
intrepid tree
grows in rock
eagle’s fishing spot
Released
in the echo
of his cry
every tear is dried

the colony
begins with two
sentinels of progeny
Vision
amidst glimmer and glint
long legged glamour
gorgeousness afoot
The Day Rose Softly
the sound
of a solitary bird
walking the riverside rocks
One
sunlight shines through you
your body wears the tilt of the reeds
what you see you become
Mystique
animating stillness
personifying patience
seer, seeker, soothsayer
Undecided
heron on the lawn
elusive guest
unsure of hospitality
Allowance
I am seen
by the knowing yellow eye
and allowed audience
Talisman
heron in the morning light
blesses the unfolding future
Written There
the bird and insect’s canon
left for man and beast
hieroglyphics on trees
Up
lift off
is the miracle
grace is the flight
Downy in the Garden
a pause
from the pecking
resting on the rail
Sensei
each step
through sun or shadow
requires balance
Metal Made
steely eyed
vegan heron
roughage predator
Morning Song
robin
in the garden bed
fundamental joy
Portrait of a Bohemian
declaring status
expressing power
identity construction
Victual
big appetite for life
his hunger is for spring
Color Fast
so brilliant the blues
on wing and tail
dyed by the sky
each time he flies
Black Capped
songbird on
the seed bell
dee dee dee
chickadee
Totem Tree
envoy of the gods
hawk’s perch
seat of souls
Departure
finished pumpkin patch
crow makes his leave
winter is on the wing
Red Wing
sing your song
to everything
and no one
Singing
robin arrives
singing spring’s song
Black in Blue
a crow waits
with the rest of us
for the dawning of green
Acceptance
calm can be found
even inside the storm
Snug
a little bird house
in the great big woods
at peace in place
Raven
physical form confined
mystical powers unfettered
