A goose glides around the pond
keeping company with its reflection.
Perched
In the cattails
the blackbird
ponders his song.
The Bird Box
In silent anticipation
the whole marsh waits for
the grace of the bluebird’s arrival.
Black Bird
Singing in the tree tops
perched higher than your high note
morning is your muse.
Snake and Bird
In the winter landscape
the snake with his skin of leaves and grass
hunts the water bird.
