“Slant of light” always brings Emily Dickinson to mind. (“There’s a certain Slant of light,Winter Afternoons –That oppresses, like the Heft Of Cathedral Tunes…”) There’s nothing oppressive about this autumn slant, though. It’s hoped for, and accepted joyfully after oppressive summer heat.
