  1. It’s 75F in the room I’m in now. I just put on a chambray shirt because I’m cold. I’m not as hardy as I was when I lived in a northern clime.

  2. jenilewren – I want to see the world though being on the doorstep of being old... I may not get to see all of it... but I am going to give it a ....... good try.

  3. nonsmokingladybug – I am in my late 50s and have come to terms with who I really am and I love it. Aging is actually a beautiful thing, at least for me, I find it very interesting and I am open to the new experience to be a middle-aged woman with a young heart and a wicked sense of humor. I am happily married to a wonderful man; we are both not perfect but perfect for each other, he is the love of my life, my knight-and-shining armor with some dents and flaws. I was born and raised in Europe and English is my second language. So, please be gentle with me and kindly overlook mistakes I am going to make…and yes, you might “hear” an accent now and then. As of today the 19th of July I have two blogs, both subjects are dear to me for very different reasons. “Thehappyquitter” is about my journey and what I experienced when I gave up smoking. This might interest you if you either want to quit smoking, or you just quit smoking and you might have a puzzled look on your face. I gave up smoking after 35 years and believe me; I had the same look on my face. I just want to share my "quit journey" with other smokers and ex-smokers. Even though we are all different, we all have the same goal. We want to live a smoke-free life. Giving up smoking is a roller coaster ride. I quit smoking on my own, but tried to find some answers to my question online and found an online support group for ex-smokers. Sharing your up's and down's was very helpful. I went to www.quitsmokingmessageboard.com and would like to say "Thank you", it was easier knowing you all had my back. I started writing a journal right from the start, I didn't even know I liked writing, but I never stopped after I started. It felt like a therapy session, it was just me and the keyboard and well, yes sometimes a glass of wine. I knew nothing about blogs or blogging, but it's never too late to learn something new. This blog is about me http://nonsmokingladybug.wordpress.com but will give you a little bit insight in my life as well. I love good stories, good jokes and fairy-tales and won’t be able to deny it. My other blog http://mywitchkitchen.wordpress.com is about my passion…cooking. My husband calls the room where the magic happens “my witch kitchen”, mainly because it is never ‘in order’ or just clean. There is always something ‘in the making’. I traveled the word and I can honestly say that there is good food everywhere, you just have to be open-minded and you have to be willing to try new things. Over the years I combined our roots into dishes we both love and I thought I might share them with all of you. It might be interesting if you like to cook and if you don’t mind to try European recipes with an American touch and vice versa :-) So, I say "Welcome to my blog(s)" it’s an honor to have you!
