I love it! And so very true. I have squirrels that fling the seed, but there is plenty to go around. I know some people hate the squirrels, but I don’t mind them. And most of the birds don’t mind eating from the ground.

Lovely bird, do you know what kind it is?
I would love to fill my feeder again, unfortunately our neighborhood has visitors that prevent that…
i think that’s a chickadee or maybe a nuthatch both very common around these parts.
The woodpeckers fling seed like this as they look for peanuts in the feeder. The doves love it!
I had to take down the suet cage because the woodpeckers were pounding on it so hard it was driving the puppy crazy!
Yes indeed! Yesterday (02/17) I had two DOZEN mourning doves in Dummerston! In addition to an entire flock of starlings.
WOW!! You must have the best feed in town.
You could be describing what happens in my garden – lovely.
🙂
Exactly. Which is why I don’t have bird feeders anymore. The seeds went everywhere, and weeds sprouted where the grass used to be 🙂
I just got the idea that I can start a birdfeeder at my new house.
The birds are such nice companions in the quiet of winter

ah, plenty to go around for whomever needs it!
A survivor and opportunist…..just what you need to survive in the wild. It’s kind a dangerous down there but a meal is needed.
