  1. derrickjknight – UK – I am an octogenarian enjoying rambling physically and photographing what I see, and rambling in my head as memories are triggered. I also ramble through a lifetime's photographs. In these later years much rambling is done in a car.

What an amazing coincidence. Two days ago, I featured deer 🙂

  2. chelawriter – I thought retirement would give me more time to write, but as with may others, my experience of retirement so far is that it is far busier than my employment years. Two wild fires with evacuations and extensive damage to my home have not helped. Repairs are almost complete, and fingers crossed things will settle down so I can post more often.

We didn’t have our winter crowd hanging around this year. New energetic and on-the-guard dog has kept the herd away from our goats and fields. Wish I could teach her it is okay for deer to share our space. I miss seeing them.

    1. They are lovely – often so delicate and dainty. And marvelous to see them with young. We had twins last year, a special treat

  3. pastpeter – Sometime Senior Scientist, sometime Senior Pastor, now senior citizen, happily retired and living once again on Long Island, New York – the place people always want to leave but always come back to. Our retirement years have taken Marian and me to mid-coast Maine (A Maine Winter), to the New Hampshire Lakes region (A New Hampshire Journal), and then back to Long Island, where we had spent the 17 “best years of our lives” (Past Pastoring). We loved the north country, but are so glad to be “Home” (Long Islanders).

That’s a classic. We used to have about 10 deer who lived on the hill behind us, and I have watched them flee at the sound of our dogs many times. Never took any notice of me yelling at them – “domestic deer”, an LI sub-species!
