  1. This is a true story. I had an aunt who was born and raised inside the Chicago loop. Until she married my Iowa uncle, she’d never been to the country. She enjoyed learning, but sometimes was a little — off.

My mother and I were driving through eastern Iowa with her one day when she pointed to bales just like this and said, “See there? If they gather those when they’re young, they make shredded wheat cereal from them.” She was so innocently serious it made it all the more hilarious.

  2. A hearty, rustic photo there seedbud! Thanks for sharing. I have a poetry blog here on WordPress and today’s poem is about making hay while the sun shines in case you have time to look? Golden greetings, Sam 🙂
