  1. derrickjknight – UK – I am an octogenarian enjoying rambling physically and photographing what I see, and rambling in my head as memories are triggered. I also ramble through a lifetime's photographs. In these later years much rambling is done in a car.

  3. pastorpete51 – My wife and I serve as members of a worship team at a multicultural church. Our members are from Brazil, Nepal and the U.S.. Because of the many languages and cultures in our local body we face unique challenges, such as how many songs will we do in English today? What new songs can we use in either language that are simple enough for the people to sing. The songs, the devotions and insights here are a small portion of some of the ways God is leading us as we push towards the goal. I pray that these will be both a blessing and an encouragement for those of you who may pass by Praise 2 Worship.

  12. 2ndhalfolife – In the second (or really third?) half of my life now. Moving into the more crone stage: out of my head, into my soul. My magic is returning after many years of having lost it to the streets of life. There have been some very dark times, but these have made my journey rich with the stuff of possibility. Because out of darkness has come the glittering beauty of illumination. It has come with struggle and toil, and not without help--but I am here, and I am mostly in tact, and I'm here to share the rest of this journey with you all if you care to join me.......

  14. Gretchen Del Rio – Crestline, California, USA – I first discovered the magic of water based colors when many years ago I began to paint with procion dyes on silk. I loved the unexpected quality of the process. It was so exciting to never be sure what the colors and water would combine to produce. It seemed as though the medium had its own passion. Painting with watercolors and paper is much the same. I love the color combinations and separations that occur spontaneously as the color floats on the water. You can never totally predict what effect will result. If you try to control the medium too much, your painting will be very tight losing its aliveness. The artist must be bold and decisive or the work will not be clear and fresh. It is really like a dance. It becomes a controlled folly in knowing when to let go and when to take charge of the direction that the painting is taking. The images that I paint reflect my emotions and are expression of my life experience. They are not extensively planned, but rather evolve as the painting progresses. I am always surprised by the end result since it comes into being because of what the medium and emotion has suggested. The paintings are from my heart and I always fall in love with the subject. I believe that we are all connected and, if an image touches you, it is because we all have the same heart even though our paths may be different. Most of all, painting what I paint makes me happy. The paintings are my own path unfolding. They are an opening door for me and contain my own passion for life.

  15. This speaks volumes to me, both the familiar setting and your accompanying words. I often sense a similar focus in the fog; rather than obscuring, it gently fosters awareness on the moment. Whatever may be happening elsewhere is of no concern. Thank you for sharing!

  16. That the past tense contrasts with the last word, reminds me how fog eventually lifts, leaving to art the possibility of saving what we think we saw and felt.

  25. I feel like this should be the scene of a movie.

    In a drama: that could be the favorite thinking spot for the introverted heroine. In this particular weather it was after a break-up.

    In a thriller: it could the the place where the hero(ine) comes in contact with a ghost for the first time.

Margaret Lynette Sharp – Sydney, Australia – I studied Short Story Writing and Freelance Journalism for a total of five years when I was younger, but it's only lately that I've tried to make a go of it as a professional. The total number of ratings of my titles there is in excess of 80, with an average of 4.4 stars. I am happily married to Ronald Sharp, the creator of the Grand Organ in the Concert Hall of the Sydney Opera House. I love painting something people can look at for hours and see different things. Be able to make prints of these items to create different ways of presenting them. Now planning on spending the rest of my life in Henly RV Park, Texas in The Caboose, a 45 foot long Jayco Bungalow. I am too old to drive around anymore and the interest is not there but it was fun while it lasted...
