deep in the quiet woods
by the unhurried water
my soul rejuvenates

alive again with rain
the brook a mirror
of renewal
Water’s Laughter
bubbles giggle
as the brook
cascades
Change To Change
winter teeter totters
with rain erasing snow
then back again
Ways Of Water
still flowing
but slower
still drawing
with sunlight
Fairies Autumn
mostly fall is raucous color
but at a small enclave near the brook
shy leaves blush hues of pink
Rock Koi Swim
beneath the surface
orange rocks swim like koi
undulating with the current and the wind
Water Falls Along The Brook
pulled by
time and gravity
back to the beginning
Flight Of The Baby Snapping Turtle
a bird plucked you from the ground
then found you undesirable and dropped you down
some million turtle miles from the brook
to which you were returned completely unshook

a single drop
circles echo
in sunlight

the brook fast with melt

bowed to winter
seeing past reflection
into the future

and watch spring

April snow spent the night
the running brook hopes
to escort her back home
Breaking Free
verdant with spring
the brook rushes
toward sunlight
Cold Growth Forest
the brook and the branch
grew a forest of ice pines
Freezing Falls
still rushing
as the surface solidifies
Water Wanders
the brook meanders
through the woods

then develops into sleet
