  1. Such a lovely shot. My eye is always drawn to seemingly insignificant details and I immediately focused in on the lone leaf, clinging on till the last, (top left of centre). Somehow my mind perceives it as the pivotal point of the picture. Funny how the mind works… 🙂 x

  2. edykizaki – enjoying Uruguay! (writing is a way of life, somewhat like a field where birds drop seeds as they pass, and these days I am a cloud floating above it and hoping to rain)
    edykizaki says:

We are in summer here in Uruguay, and for an instant looking at the scene I somehow dismissed it as insignificant compared to the bright sun and flowers everywhere that we have here… then I took a deep breath and sank into the quiet autumn light and yes… it’s a psalm, a moment of eternity and thank you for sharing this!

  3. Belinda Broughton – I love lots of things: poetry (including Japanese forms), art, the Great Outdoors, my family, my Love, science, personal questing, grass moving in the wind, sticks and stones, the things people do and make.

  5. Dreamah H. Lockwood – Dreamah H. Lockwood is a pseudonym I use in memory of my sister who died in 2012. Ohio is my home with four cats and two dogs, all rescues. An author, artist, and veteran, I served in the USAF for five years and studied creative writing in college. Books with an unusual twist, romantic ghost stories, romantic suspense, and a series of ghostly crime fiction are my chosen genre.

Whoever writes the little poems is outstanding as well as the photographs.

  6. Gretchen Del Rio – Crestline, California, USA – I first discovered the magic of water based colors when many years ago I began to paint with procion dyes on silk. I loved the unexpected quality of the process. It was so exciting to never be sure what the colors and water would combine to produce. It seemed as though the medium had its own passion. Painting with watercolors and paper is much the same. I love the color combinations and separations that occur spontaneously as the color floats on the water. You can never totally predict what effect will result. If you try to control the medium too much, your painting will be very tight losing its aliveness. The artist must be bold and decisive or the work will not be clear and fresh. It is really like a dance. It becomes a controlled folly in knowing when to let go and when to take charge of the direction that the painting is taking. The images that I paint reflect my emotions and are expression of my life experience. They are not extensively planned, but rather evolve as the painting progresses. I am always surprised by the end result since it comes into being because of what the medium and emotion has suggested. The paintings are from my heart and I always fall in love with the subject. I believe that we are all connected and, if an image touches you, it is because we all have the same heart even though our paths may be different. Most of all, painting what I paint makes me happy. The paintings are my own path unfolding. They are an opening door for me and contain my own passion for life.

  7. Louis – Man of leisure! Particular interests: Photography, gardening, reading - especially historical fiction - and the arts in general. I enjoy quiet rather than noise; shade rather than sun. We (my wife and I, the children having long since pursued their various paths) live on the edge of a small village, next to a sheep farm. Our favourite holiday retreat is the Isles of Scilly.

Poetic in expression, composition and the subdued palette.

The horizontal sweeps of the bare twigs counter the vertical sweeps of grass as does the blues and purples of the woods against the hints of yellows and siennas in the grass.

He has climbed, hiked, kayaked, photographed, skied, and otherwise meandered aimlessly throughout the American West for decades. He has degrees in geology, environmental studies, and communication — and has tried to make use of them as a co-founder of the progressive cultural blog ScholarsandRogues.com. 12. 2ndhalfolife – In the second (or really third?) half of my life now. Moving into the more crone stage: out of my head, into my soul. My magic is returning after many years of having lost it to the streets of life. There have been some very dark times, but these have made my journey rich with the stuff of possibility. Because out of darkness has come the glittering beauty of illumination. It has come with struggle and toil, and not without help--but I am here, and I am mostly in tact, and I'm here to share the rest of this journey with you all if you care to join me.......

This newfound love of writing was a natural progression for me as I had spent my entire career writing professionally to engage, inform, inspire, and move client groups to responsive action. With poetry, reader engagement and response has been a tremendous part of my life, unimpeded by any sort of mental block at any stage of the creative process. The focus of my writing leans strongly to the romantic side while also very strongly influenced by my love and connection with nature and the stunning beauty of so much of the planet. Most often, I incorporate high-resolution photographic images to enhance the reader experience. I am also a freelance editor, proofreader, line editor, grammatical and structural editor of author book manuscripts and publishing services.
