  1. Interesting study! Please explain to an Australian what it represents as I don’t know what the contrasting black and white represents

    1. Hi Maureen. It is a birch branch, broken off in a wind and rain storm with a bit of the bark peeled back – showing the reverse of what you normally see. Wet from the rain it kind of shimmers like a velvet with polka dots.
