“Together, depression and addiction, held me hostage for a number of years and then brutally robbed me of the will to live.” I read these words. I don’t recall writing this, but it’s exactly how I feel. I was raised by a Marine. He was one of my best friends my whole life, until he passed. Indomitable spirit (or my goal of this)…is the only reason I’m still here. I forgot what joy feels like. So, these poems of hope, like leaves of grass grow within me. Somehow they remind, I feel a glimmer of hope. A shard of remembrance, of joy. Thank you, so much dear spirit Leaf and Twig.

  3. Dear Chris, The whole purpose of Leaf And Twig is to spread and grow those glimmers of hope. To hear it is doing that in some small way is deeply meaningful to me. Thank you so much for sharing your experience – it is sustenance and fortification to me in ways I do not have adequate words for.
