I envy you your flamboyant Zinnias! Such exuberant colours. Enjoy them while you can

  2. derrickjknight – UK – I am an octogenarian enjoying rambling physically and photographing what I see, and rambling in my head as memories are triggered. I also ramble through a lifetime's photographs. In these later years much rambling is done in a car.

I like the garden’s excuse idea

  3. pastpeter – Sometime Senior Scientist, sometime Senior Pastor, now senior citizen, happily retired and living once again on Long Island, New York – the place people always want to leave but always come back to. Our retirement years have taken Marian and me to mid-coast Maine (A Maine Winter), to the New Hampshire Lakes region (A New Hampshire Journal), and then back to Long Island, where we had spent the 17 “best years of our lives” (Past Pastoring). We loved the north country, but are so glad to be “Home” (Long Islanders).

  4. Fabulous ‘ the garden’s excuse’. Why can’t I write words such as yours.

    1. Really amazing! Probably by the end of the week. Things have been blooming like it’s mid summer at the end of October. So warm bulbs are starting to sprout! Forsythia is giving a second bloom as the leaves are dying. Very Strange. What will it mean for spring?

      1. Last week I saw a crabapple in FULL bloom. Kind of freaked me out when I asked that same question along with, ‘What if this becomes a common occurrence? No fruit to eat!

  5. Jackie – Connecticut – I’m a woman lost in thought armed with cameras, photo editors, and apps. Nature photography has been a love and passion of mine since 2009. Vintage photographic processing as well as antique cameras are also of great interest to me. Other loves and passions: family, music, cooking, and my cat Sienna.

    Wonderful post!

Also, I’m so sorry I have been basically MIA in the blogosphere. Things have been shifting and changing so I got knocked off balance. Things are finally settling down so I should be able to keep up better now. 😀

  6. Lovely image there on your hillside. (I overheard the exchange between you and Eliza. Interesting.) Also, the poem gave me a new way of looking at late flowers in my dear’s own little garden. Nice complement to a colorful-tree day here in the Midwest.

  7. mcmessner – For me, the prospect of making an image has quite often been the preface to a wonderful adventure. Instagram: @mcmessner Website: mcmessner.com
