  1. derrickjknight – UK – I am an octogenarian enjoying rambling physically and photographing what I see, and rambling in my head as memories are triggered. I also ramble through a lifetime's photographs. In these later years much rambling is done in a car.

  5. Can you see me grinning? There’s the corn and the cows that are essence of Iowa. Have you ever heard the corn growing? It’s not just a tale. If the conditions are right, you can hear it crackling as it stretches skyward. I haven’t heard it for years, but I remember it well, and your photo brought it back.

  6. dennyho – A Virginia native, I was born in RVA. In my twenties I married and moved to SoCal where I learned to love a new landscape, was forced to drop my ever present southern 'ma'am', and discovered the necessity of honing my (lacking) map skills. In due time I found myself in C'bus where our daughter arrived and gladly I put myself second. Next city on tour was the 'Burgh (as in PA) and here we welcomed our son. Many years later, I now reside in E'ville, Virginia, Earlysville for those of you who may not know of my sleepy little hamlet resting within Charlottesville in the piedmont of the Blue Ridge Mountains. As I look back over the the abbreviated stops along my life's highway I know I've stepped foot in every spot, met every person, and experienced every high and low for exacting yet unknown reasons bringing me to where I am today. The who I am today is because I travelled that highway, made those stops, and dared to believe I do have it all.

  8. Juliatova – Fairfax, VA – I consider myself a constant creative always in the pursuit of capturing life's moments in one art form or another. A fan of photography, influenced by parents who raised their children with a dark room housed in their Iowa basement where the fumes from processing chemicals must have been fused into our DNA. And, a writer of sorts, for after journaling for so many years in tiny little secretive notebooks, it is a big step to venture into a public display of personal writing. After publishing a few articles in local online papers, my public pen has been exposed and I am ready to continue the adventure, pen and camera in hand, publishing pictures that tell tales hand in hand with the printed word.
