  1. blkkat49 – United States – I just want to write about anything that inspires me and to share this with everyone who wants to read it. I'm drawn to blank spaces and want to fill them with pondering, and advice and pictures. I know very little about a lot of things, but a lot about a few things. I write poetry, short stories, fiction and nonfiction and I love to read what the world of writing has to offer in any venue available. That is why I'm here.

  9. kim881 – A retired teacher, I am originally from London; lived in Cologne, Germany for nearly eight years, and the Republic of Ireland for two years, where I gave birth to my daughter. I have lived in North Norfolk in the UK for twenty three years. Reading and writing have been a huge part of my life since I was very young. I used to write mainly poetry, moved on to short stories, and finished my first novel for children aged 8+ at the beginning of this year: a ghost story set in London in the Second World War. I am currently writing a novel for older children, another ghost story, this time set in North Norfolk. I am an examiner and moderator for English and English Literature, and a volunteer at local libraries, leading Bounce and Rhyme for babies and toddlers, as well as a Chatterbooks reading group for older children. Contact with children keeps me young and alive. I can't wait to have grandchildren. Our two cats run wild in our overgrown garden that is also occasionally home to deer, hedgehogs, owls and dragonflies, and a huge variety of other birds and wildlife. I can see it all from my desk; it's peaceful, green and food for the imagination. Apart from being a huge Radio 4 fan, I love music, theatre and anything in the horror genre.

  10. derrickjknight – UK – I am an octogenarian enjoying rambling physically and photographing what I see, and rambling in my head as memories are triggered. I also ramble through a lifetime's photographs. In these later years much rambling is done in a car.

  13. 2ndhalfolife – In the second (or really third?) half of my life now. Moving into the more crone stage: out of my head, into my soul. My magic is returning after many years of having lost it to the streets of life. There have been some very dark times, but these have made my journey rich with the stuff of possibility. Because out of darkness has come the glittering beauty of illumination. It has come with struggle and toil, and not without help--but I am here, and I am mostly in tact, and I'm here to share the rest of this journey with you all if you care to join me.......

  14. Cynthia Guenther Richardson – Pacific NW – Hello fellow readers and bloggers, Writing has always been a powerful connector to diverse ideas and people. We each are a meaningful part of this beautiful, ever-widening web of life. Blogging enables more interaction, which I love even after 11 years of blogging posts on three different sites. For thirty years I was an addictions/mental health counselor and also a manager of home care services for elderly folks. Now that I have hit 70 and am more devoted to a creative life! I've published online or in literary journals/collections several times, including fiction and creative non-fiction pieces and poetry over five decades. Additionally, I was nominated for a Pushcart Prize for an excerpt of my novel-in-progress, Other than Words (the work gathering dust at present), about a mute dancer and her impact on her adopted community and a world-travelling photojournalist. I also am working on a connected set of stories about a close-knit town in northern Michigan. On Wordpress I enjoy writing about living richly despite (or because of) life's setbacks and a diagnosis of heart disease at age 51. Posts tagged "memoir" share spiritual adventures, interactions with nature, the healing of trauma's impact and challenges of writing full-time. Short stories and creative nonfiction, and poetry are favorite genres but I enjoy sharing my photography as well My hope is my offerings reflect a profound faith in God and our humanness which cloaks spiritual natures. I include myself as part of the diverse group of writers who discover and share the illuminating, positive experiences amid life's uncertainties and hardships.
