  1. derrickjknight – UK – I am an octogenarian enjoying rambling physically and photographing what I see, and rambling in my head as memories are triggered. I also ramble through a lifetime's photographs. In these later years much rambling is done in a car.

Wonderful view and soon to be all green.

  3. I could cry – when in my youth I needed to hear this, I thought the attached rules were part of the story. Parasites can look just like preachers and leaders. Very profound and rich with solace, Seedbud. I really appreciate what you are doing.

  4. sorry for what looks like an ambiguous post from me – In my youth, there were rules attached to the space I took up. I had no idea they hadn’t grown naturally with the law of nature that gave me a chance to be here on earth, just like all living things. It was a cruel discovery to realize the rigid rules I’d grown up treating as sacred, were merely things others wanted me to believe. Is this a little clearer? Trying to say something I’ve never said before…

    1. Niaih, It always brings me such pleasure to read your thoughtful and insightful comments. I so appreciate the deepness of what you share. Both comments make total sense to me. “parasites can look like preachers and leaders” that phrase echoes. I too grew up with the notion that I shouldn’t take up too much space. Mother nature teaches differently. Very, very Best, Seedbud.

  5. Shellie Troy Anderson – Third generation Vancouverite whose sleepy home town transmogrified from a gorgeous backwater to a "world class city" backwater where nobody can afford to live. Yay . Current writing projects --if social media ever releases me from its grip-- include two novels which may never be finished, Op-eds for the Bridge River Lillooet News (now retired from the position), memoir, and two blogs--this one, and Emergency Kittens ~ Without the Kittens where I sporadically post from my thirty-year collection of photography. . Master of Fine Arts, Creative Writing, University of British Columbia . Bachelor of Arts, Major in English, Simon Fraser University

love every single one of your posts. it’s like the earth speaks through you.

  6. Jennifer L Meacham, author – Nevada – Fiction is the bloodline to perspective. Wrapping ourselves in the cloak of fiction allows us to slip into another world, another's shoes and experience life through their eyes, their emotion. More than that though, fiction grants us the anonymity to speak freely without apology. There is a truth in what is made up that society doesn't allow in the real world. That is my goal in my writing. I write about things that matter to me, and hopefully to you. Over the life of this blog, I will post short bits of fiction every now and then, but my writing projects are not posted here. And what is this blog? This blog will be a bit more literal. I will voice my opinions, my thoughts, my ramblings. I hope you like what you find and come back for more.
    Jennifer L Meacham, author says:

Amazing how so few words can convey so much. Really resonates with me. Thanks!

  7. Pat – I'm a retired educator and avid amateur photographer. I live in southern Ohio with my wonderful husband and two delightful cats.

    Lovely view.

  8. firefly1275 – Louisiana – V. Rose enjoys creating mystical characters and worlds, with a touch of the modern day world. When she is not writing or thinking up her next story ideas, she is enjoying South Louisiana sunsets.

    Very beautiful photo shot!

  9. 2ndhalfolife – In the second (or really third?) half of my life now. Moving into the more crone stage: out of my head, into my soul. My magic is returning after many years of having lost it to the streets of life. There have been some very dark times, but these have made my journey rich with the stuff of possibility. Because out of darkness has come the glittering beauty of illumination. It has come with struggle and toil, and not without help--but I am here, and I am mostly in tact, and I'm here to share the rest of this journey with you all if you care to join me.......

    The hills are alive….!

  10. flahertylandscape – I like to live landscape stories…I am a landscape architect; and I like to write stories about people, plants, gardens and the landscape.
    flahertylandscape says:

Eternity in real life. That large landscape is eternity to the leaf bud. Did I understand your poetic image correctly?

  11. Dr. Denny Wilkins – Dr. Denny Wilkins professes journalism at a small, private university in the Northeast. He has climbed, hiked, kayaked, photographed, skied, and otherwise meandered aimlessly throughout the American West for decades. He has degrees in geology, environmental studies, and communication — and has tried to make use of them as a co-founder of the progressive cultural blog ScholarsandRogues.com. He’s broadly interested in how the world works and why it works that way. He hates writing, although he does like having written well.
    Dr. Denny Wilkins says:

And my homesickness runs amok again …
