Patience

foggy morning
the sundial waits
for the sun

light streams
across the lake
over the faint mountain vista

in the tumult
mountains remind me
the endurance of truth

light and shadow
chase each other
across the landscape

the deepening
of green and blue
expands the view

look past and beyond
the overgrown and closed
and see all that is

Buddha leaves
a wake
of beauty and calm

between
the snow and clouds
evergreens conjure spring

the garden
over looks
forever

every leaf bud revels
in the space
reserved for their expansion

beneath the snow’s umbrella of white
between the porch and our dear crabapple tree
winter’s divine vista shines

clouds
are what
mountains dream
