  1. derrickjknight – UK – I am an octogenarian enjoying rambling physically and photographing what I see, and rambling in my head as memories are triggered. I also ramble through a lifetime's photographs. In these later years much rambling is done in a car.
    derrickjknight says:

    nice concept

  2. judybarton – Still in love, complicated, almost stupid, interested to recognize herself. "Up to the age of eighteen years old everybody writes poems; after, only two categories of people may continue to do it: poets and idiots." (Benedetto Croce). Obviously I do not consider myself a poet.
    judybarton says:

I also seek something so and often with the same no name.
    Liked a lot

  3. I love peering into the woods and getting that mystical, magical feeling. Your pictures holds that experience for me.

  4. throughstones – North Devon, UK. – I am primarily an environmental artist, living on the North Devon coast, a still beautiful, semi-rural area in South West England. I am interested in the eternal movement and cycles of life, and in full engagement with place - particularly as it relates to what we call 'nature' or 'the natural environment'. It is a way of making myself at home in the world.

    Thank you – profoundly beautiful.

  5. To name is to (try to) control-but mystery disappears, along with reverence. Your words and the image remind me of that.

  6. Gretchen Del Rio – Crestline, California, USA – I first discovered the magic of water based colors when many years ago I began to paint with procion dyes on silk. I loved the unexpected quality of the process. It was so exciting to never be sure what the colors and water would combine to produce. It seemed as though the medium had its own passion. Painting with watercolors and paper is much the same. I love the color combinations and separations that occur spontaneously as the color floats on the water. You can never totally predict what effect will result. If you try to control the medium too much, your painting will be very tight losing its aliveness. The artist must be bold and decisive or the work will not be clear and fresh. It is really like a dance. It becomes a controlled folly in knowing when to let go and when to take charge of the direction that the painting is taking. The images that I paint reflect my emotions and are expression of my life experience. They are not extensively planned, but rather evolve as the painting progresses. I am always surprised by the end result since it comes into being because of what the medium and emotion has suggested. The paintings are from my heart and I always fall in love with the subject. I believe that we are all connected and, if an image touches you, it is because we all have the same heart even though our paths may be different. Most of all, painting what I paint makes me happy. The paintings are my own path unfolding. They are an opening door for me and contain my own passion for life.

Daily on my walks I have at least one moment where I just am with the trees and sky. It makes everything endless and I expand and refresh. This photo reminds me of the vastness and quiet of nature.

    1. Gretchen, I know exactly what you mean about expanding and refreshing. I see the spirit of nature and her vastness and quiet and power in your artwork.

  7. angiyongtangasulat – I'm exhibiting early signs of having an Alzheimer's disease. Perhaps, this is attributed to thinking a lot of things: weird things, nonsense things, imaginary things, creepy things, out-of-this world things, walis thing things, and na things. Having to think those, I'm afraid my mind will explode and I would go crazy, nuts, insane, idiot, futile, inutile, impotent (hindi yan erectile dysfunction) et cetera. et cetera. So, to deload my mind and to prevent it from exploding, magsusulat na lang ako. Malay mo, mabawasan. So, to all the readers, basa basa lang. Kung seseryusohin mo, nasa sa'yo na 'yon. (laugh)

That picture is a great time machine.

It looks like silence. Maybe there’s just the tiny noise of snow creaking under your boots. Do you have a dog? This scene would be wonderful to explore with a dog by your side. 🙂

    1. Ruthie – I LOVE the idea of what silence looks like. I do have a dog and we wander the woods often. Have a great one.

  11. elainedesterre – Anglesea, Victoria, 3230. Australia – I have been producing oil paintings, mixed media, prints (etching), digital prints and drawings for many years travelling to the Australian outback and overseas for inspiration and further education. My formal education consists of a PhD in painting and a BA in printmaking and my artwork is represented in public and private collections. My purpose and ongoing challenge is to create a gender-balanced and environment-focused iconography within the Western canon of European oil painting. These themes find expression within imagery about time, memory and identity as well as in geomorphology of evolutionary and environmental significance.

I like the your beautiful image and the concept it portrays.

  12. firefly1275 – Louisiana – V. Rose enjoys creating mystical characters and worlds, with a touch of the modern day world. When she is not writing or thinking up her next story ideas, she is enjoying South Louisiana sunsets.

    Very nice and beautiful!

  13. 2ndhalfolife – In the second (or really third?) half of my life now. Moving into the more crone stage: out of my head, into my soul. My magic is returning after many years of having lost it to the streets of life. There have been some very dark times, but these have made my journey rich with the stuff of possibility. Because out of darkness has come the glittering beauty of illumination. It has come with struggle and toil, and not without help--but I am here, and I am mostly in tact, and I'm here to share the rest of this journey with you all if you care to join me.......
