Lovely Dahlia. I have recently started to grow them without having the awareness that our climate is not so kind to the beauties. They have me in their hold though and I have gone to great lengths to protect them from our early frosts. Such treasures. thanks for sharing 🙂

  3. The dahlia might win, or at least get the silver medal! What a fun poem to go with this photo. You have a lovely blog here — so peaceful and happy! I’ve added it to a list of positive blogs I keep on my own site. 🙂

  4. Dahlias are most beautiful, I have always been reluctant to grow them as the only insect that makes me nervous is an earwig, and these flowers seem to attract them. A beautiful photo.

  5. becca givens – Central Texas - USA – Becca is an artist, poet, and animal communicator. She delights in cooking, nurturing, and sharing a rich spiritual life with others on the Path.

Dahlias are quite lovely — wish I didn’t have to travel to enjoy them in person!

  6. firefly1275 – Louisiana – V. Rose enjoys creating mystical characters and worlds, with a touch of the modern day world. When she is not writing or thinking up her next story ideas, she is enjoying South Louisiana sunset.

    Very nice and beautiful!

  7. Stunning capture!
Dahlias are such a beautiful flower perfectly illustrating sacred geometry.

  8. That gorgeous lavender/purple is definitely not a common fall color…although I saw some lavender colors today in someone’s garden, limp from first frost, looking like over-sized crocusses.
    Mesmerizing patterns on these dahlias…

    Still so beautiful and colorful!

  10. LB – I'm a woman who loves spending time on the motorcycle and in, or on, any body of water. I love traveling and reading, baking and cooking, taking way too many pictures, and enjoying my family and friends. Life is an adventure, and I want to remember and express my joy for it! This is a journal for me ... so I'll never forget the good times and to remind me of them on more challenging days.

    gorgeous!

  12. Thegreyeye – Hi there ... I have always wanted to travel!!! After all we 've got one life right ? and I wanna spend it knowing the world. And what is the better way to know the people than to travel ! While doing that, I came to know myself much more than I thought I knew about who I am. I am a dreamer !!! a singer… a painter,,,, a cook… a foodie… a friend… a shopaholic ..a traveler.. That’s who I am. ...So I started writing about it. I also wanna go to a bunch places in my journey's ahead. I am gonna plan them and ask your advice as well here. ;) So come and join my travel boutique.. And after 5 years of travel photography and travel-writing and reading many of the related blogs,I believe I can offer an unique thing here, I can photograph any place to their best. After travelling 23 countries in 5 years, I realised, any place whatever small or insignificant they look like, they always have something to offer. Here I have described several places like that taking out the best of 'em. So, enjoy :) . 13. M. – Since I was little I liked to visualize and create things. Painting with watercolors is what makes me happy now. That, and spending time gardening and reading. I love long walks, biking, and the beach.
