Lois – I am a writer living in the west of England; I have written fourrteen novels, my latest being 'Winterdyke' This is the latest of the seven Radwinter genealogical mysteries series, all available on Amazon - the eighth in the series due to appear in early summer. I have written seven other novels, a guide to writing, three stories for reluctant readers and two anthologies with other writers. All are available as eBooks and paperbacks.   7. Apple Hill Cottage – Renovating a little cottage in the country that's been in our families for years. Three years of renovating on weekends took its toll, and we moved in before it was finished. Yes, we knew the warnings… but still, we're here now and our adventures have changed a bit...

  9. Gretchen Del Rio – Crestline, California, USA – I first discovered the magic of water based colors when many years ago I began to paint with procion dyes on silk. I loved the unexpected quality of the process. It was so exciting to never be sure what the colors and water would combine to produce. It seemed as though the medium had its own passion. Painting with watercolors and paper is much the same. I love the color combinations and separations that occur spontaneously as the color floats on the water. You can never totally predict what effect will result. If you try to control the medium too much, your painting will be very tight losing its aliveness. The artist must be bold and decisive or the work will not be clear and fresh. It is really like a dance. It becomes a controlled folly in knowing when to let go and when to take charge of the direction that the painting is taking. The images that I paint reflect my emotions and are expression of my life experience. They are not extensively planned, but rather evolve as the painting progresses. I am always surprised by the end result since it comes into being because of what the medium and emotion has suggested. The paintings are from my heart and I always fall in love with the subject. I believe that we are all connected and, if an image touches you, it is because we all have the same heart even though our paths may be different. Most of all, painting what I paint makes me happy. The paintings are my own path unfolding. They are an opening door for me and contain my own passion for life.

  17. kanzensakura – Eccentric, mystical, practical, wicked humor that is not always....sane. I look at the world from a different perspective. I'm an uncommon mashup of South meets East...magnolia and cherry blossoms, fried chicken and sushi, haiku and bluegrass. I was born into an old, eccentric Southern family; not the dark Faulkneresgue kind family, more like the Addams family with a drawl. Poet, ex-chef, perpetual student of life, writer, romantic yet pragmatic. I love sci fi, fantasy, Star Trek (I have several uniforms from engineering services), New Orleans, and my southern heritage. I've worked as a bartender, freelance food stylist and photographer, autopsy photographer, chef and escaped from that to cook food I love for people I love, social worker, infrastructure engineer and lately, into pharmacy. A true Scorpio, I seem to re-invent myself every few years as life dictates. I worte my first haiku when I was six and have a long, deep love of Japan. I've traveled extensively all over the US and Canada, UK, Europe, Asia. I went to Woodstock and don't remember a thing! Particle physics and origami make me smile. Guided equally by Bushido and the 10 Commandments. I am a firm believer that it is important to always be kind but it isn't always important to be right. I have started a new poetry only blog: Aki no Koe - voice of autumn. Blessings and grins to you all!

Andi – I am: a home schooling mom to four hobbits. a wife to an artist. a lover of babies, playing in the dirt, and books with pages. a woman seeking relief from fibromyalgia/chronic fatigue through whole foods and simplified living. I am also the owner of Cricket Manor Wool, a family grown (literally) business. My wool comes from my family's small Icelandic herd who live on my in laws' farm, Cricket Manor. We also offer a small about of Shetland wool from the cutest sheep I have ever seen, Codswallop.

  21. vftmom247 – We have settled in Susterseel, Germany. If you find yourself saying "Where the heck is Susterseel?.." you're not alone. At first, we thought we were just an island of Germany surrounded by The Netherlands, because in order to get anywhere, it seemed like we had to criss-cross between the two countries. We are right on the border though, an hour north of Aachen, just across the border from Sittard, NE. We are an American missionary family of four, through an organization called LifeTeen. LifeTeen was founded when a priest bumped into a young man he'd confirmed, but hadn't seen in church since. He asked the young man why he'd stopped coming to church, and the reply was basically that he felt like there was nothing in the Church that was relevant to him anymore. Check out my link to LifeTeen for what came as a result of this encounter. My husband is German, and once he re-joined the Catholic Church, he became a part of LifeTeen. After visiting Germany, it broke his heart to see the state of the Catholic Church in his homeland. It became first his, then our, mission to do what we can about this.

  22. LB – I'm a woman who loves spending time on the motorcycle and in, or on, any body of water. I love traveling and reading, baking and cooking, taking way too many pictures, and enjoying my family and friends. Life is an adventure, and I want to remember and express my joy for it! This is a journal for me ... so I'll never forget the good times and to remind me of them on more challenging days.

  26. chelawriter – I thought retirement would give me more time to write, but as with may others, my experience of retirement so far is that it is far busier than my employment years. Two wild fires with evacuations and extensive damage to my home have not helped. Repairs are almost complete, and fingers crossed things will settle down so I can post more often.
