  6. Helen DeRamus, Visual Artist – Marietta – I am a fine artist working in oil paint and creating drawings on paper. My primary medium is oil paint on cradled wood using cold wax medium. Work on paper, using India Ink and graphite is a major part of my practice. Drawings lead me to the development of ideas and though the drawings may stand alone, they also lead to larger work in oil. The smaller drawings are often used as an inspiration of larger drawings. My paintings are about all the visual scraps, translucent bits and pieces, and the neuronal fragments found in the layers of memory. Using the landscape as a metaphor, the paintings are excavated from my personal memories. Throughout the United States and Canada, I have paintings, prints, photographs, and works on paper included in corporate, public and private collections including: Jacksonville State University, Ventyx Corporation, Federal Home Loan Bank of Atlanta, Georgia Perimeter College, North Georgia College and State University, The ART Station, the Ben Hill-Fitzgerald County Library, the Women's Center at Kennestone Hospital, the Atlanta Women's Foundation in Atlanta, Georgia, and Livingston College at Rutgers University in New Jersey. I am represented in Atlanta, Georgia by TEW Galleries; in Marietta, Georgia by by Robert Kent Galleries; in Homestead, Alabama by Art Alley; and In Saugatuck, Michigan by ROAN & BLACK contemporary gallery. My studio is located in the Artisan Resource Center in Marietta, Georgia a suburb of Atlanta, Georgia.

  8. Perle Champion – I’m a writer, artist, photographer and sundry other things. My book, How to Journal and How to Publish from Your Journal, is available in Kindle format at Amazon. I’ve written essays, articles and book reviews for various publications: Victoria Magazine, Birmingham Weekly, Birmingham News, Birmingham Arts Journal, Daily Mountain Eagle, First Draft Magazine, PavoMag.com, and Alabama Writer's Forum. (samples click here). For the private sector, I’ve designed, written, and edited newsletters, marketing brochures, sales letters, press releases, contracts, response to RFP for a major rehab company. I paint and draw on rescued wood, canvas, papers. I love scouring construction sites for wood that is destined for some dumpsite and giving it a chance to live in someone’s home. I photograph almost anything for my own gratification. These photos find their way onto my Blog, my books (1 published, 3 in the wings) my walls and friend’s walls. I update my Blog somewhat irregularly, but I’m on Facebook a few times a day.

  13. 2ndhalfolife – In the second (or really third?) half of my life now. Moving into the more crone stage: out of my head, into my soul. My magic is returning after many years of having lost it to the streets of life. There have been some very dark times, but these have made my journey rich with the stuff of possibility. Because out of darkness has come the glittering beauty of illumination. It has come with struggle and toil, and not without help--but I am here, and I am mostly in tact, and I'm here to share the rest of this journey with you all if you care to join me.......

  15. I love seeing the red sumac berries still on the bushes in winter. Did you know you can make a pink lemonade from the berries in summer? Also, a friend of mine harvests the berries, dries them and grinds them into a spice that goes well with heavier meats like lamb.

  18. anotherday2paradise – Durban South Africa and Florida USA – I enjoy writing about absolutely anything, and started blogging with WordPress in 2012. This was my 'Hammock Lady' blog, and I really enjoyed sharing my travels here: http://adinparadise.wordpress.com/ In November 2013, I decided it was time for a change of scenery, so I started my blog afresh, and here it is. I love to travel, and have been fortunate enough to do two round-the-world trips and visit more than forty countries so far. This year we visited our 7th continent, Antarctica. I enjoy photographing wildlife, especially in my backyard in Florida. I was born and brought up in England. My husband and I emigrated to South Africa in 1970. We now live in Florida, USA. I have a son and a daughter and five gorgeous grandchildren currently aged between 6 and 21 years. Margaret Lynette Sharp – Sydney, Australia – I studied Short Story Writing and Freelance Journalism for a total of five years when I was younger, but it's only lately that I've tried to make a go of it as a professional. I have written eleven books now, all published by Amazon Kindle, and most also published as paperbacks by Createspace and available on the Amazon web-site. Several Sydney libraries have copies of some volumes, and they are currently on loan.My books are all listed by Goodreads. The total number of ratings of my titles there is in excess of 80, with an average of 4.4 stars. I am happily married to Ronald Sharp, the creator of the Grand Organ in the Concert Hall of the Sydney Opera House. He has consistently encouraged me to write, and has spent much time in editing, compiling, and designing the covers of each book. I'm keen on swimming, love animals, and appreciate good music and art.
