  1. greenmackenzie – Scotland – Hi, I'm Seonaid, and I share my home on the shores of Loch Ness deep in the Scottish Highlands with my husband, my son and a couple of dogs. I love art which is here now and gone tomorrow...like food and nature...but also have a passion for vintage and the ancient past! Nature is my favourite muse, with her wild ever shifting seasons. I have been using and teaching mindfulness and relaxation for over 12 years, and have yet to become any sort of expert :-) I'm a Psychotherapist and Cancer Support Specialist in Maggies Highlands

  2. Really nice shot. Isn’t it great when your in the right place at the right time to capture a shot like this? To me, shots like this are proof of God.

  3. Ave Valencia – Hundred Acre Wood – My friends say I'm an artist. My cats think I'm the greatest thing since smoked salmon. My family- well let's just leave it at that.
    Ave Valencia says:

This is beautiful; it has so much to say even though it’s in basically two tones of color; it is intense, soft and elegant all at once.

  4. Gretchen Del Rio – Crestline, California, USA – I first discovered the magic of water based colors when many years ago I began to paint with procion dyes on silk. I loved the unexpected quality of the process. It was so exciting to never be sure what the colors and water would combine to produce. It seemed as though the medium had its own passion. Painting with watercolors and paper is much the same. I love the color combinations and separations that occur spontaneously as the color floats on the water. You can never totally predict what effect will result. If you try to control the medium too much, your painting will be very tight losing its aliveness. The artist must be bold and decisive or the work will not be clear and fresh. It is really like a dance. It becomes a controlled folly in knowing when to let go and when to take charge of the direction that the painting is taking. The images that I paint reflect my emotions and are expression of my life experience. They are not extensively planned, but rather evolve as the painting progresses. I am always surprised by the end result since it comes into being because of what the medium and emotion has suggested. The paintings are from my heart and I always fall in love with the subject. I believe that we are all connected and, if an image touches you, it is because we all have the same heart even though our paths may be different. Most of all, painting what I paint makes me happy. The paintings are my own path unfolding. They are an opening door for me and contain my own passion for life.

    Beautiful

  5. Oh my! Love this! Very moving…

  6. kcg1974 – My passion is writing. I love to paint pictures with words, find hidden gems behind the the curtain of the alphabet, and not be afraid to let my emotions drift through. My family, children and grand-babies are most important to me. Living with chronic conditions has taught me many life Lessons, all with blessings along the way. Previously, I owned a successful children's publishing company to help educate the peers of children living with chronic conditions and/or special needs. I'm an award winning author, but this is a whole new genre for me. Welcome, I'm really happy you're here!

Always a pleasant surprise! Love the light effects shining through.

I'm looking forward to sharing pieces of my life with you... And, also reading what you all have to share! :-) This blog will be more like my online journal, I'll be writing about life experiences, and from time to time I'll share a recipe or two. I really want to keep my writing topics open, so I'll most likely share a little everything. Though, I'll be focusing primarily on Nutrition, Gardening, and Physical Fitness (as I love running and hiking... Actually, I love anything that has to do with the outdoors!;). So, I am looking forward to blogging and reading blogs, and meeting many great wonderful people in this blogging community! :) Happy New Year, All!

  12. milkhousestudio – After several years living in a couple of big cities, I'm finally planting my two feet on rural Wisconsin ground with a farmer, his dog, several cattle and a milkhouse I can call my own. That milkhouse is my inspiration, a place where I can cut loose, get messy, throw away my graphic design background and explore printmaking, drawing and painting on absolutely my own terms.

    Pretty, I love this shot!

  13. stretchingintoinfinity – Im a 25 year old Primary School Teacher by profession. Im not creative person at all – but I’ve always enjoyed writing. I like to write short stories, poems, rants and reflections. I have a lot of respect for people who can paint and draw well – I think this is why I like to play with photos. It’s my attempt to mimic this fine skill the only way I can.

  16. reocochran – I am experiencing crazy and hapless adventures in dating that may interest people over fifty. I am now 65 this year (2017) and enjoy taking photographs, incorporating stories or poetry on my blog. I have many old posts which are informative and written like essays. I have several love stories collected from family and friends. Even strangers spill their stories, since I am a grown version of the girl next door. I have been trying to live a healthy lifestyle with better food selections and active hiking and walking. I have written four children's books and illustrated them. They are not published but a battered women's shelter used one about neglect and abuse for their children's program and a 4H group used my "Kissing a Bunny is like saying a Prayer" as a coloring book. Please comment or respond so I may get a chance to know you. Sincerely, Robin

  17. Paul Hoy – Ontario, Canada – I enjoy poetry, art, film, and wilderness tripping. I enjoy wilderness tripping in Canada's mid to far north, with my boys or solo. Up there, you are surrounded by a great solitude, a singular, omnipresent, and indifferent beauty, not a silence but only what I can describe as a kind of hum of mystery (and I'm not trying to sound poetic). The pursuit is also physically demanding - and dangerous: I've lost up to twenty-five pounds on some; I've capsized in a freezing Yukon river; I've survived hypothermia; I've received third degree burns; and I've encountered bears, one which I can only describe as a transcendent experience, an epiphany. So, wilderness canoe tripping, for me, merges the physical and the spiritual, the material and the unseen. It becomes a relationship between the inner and the outer landscapes. For me, it's a redemptive journey into what it means to be human. And because I'm so intense about these things (as you can see), I love to canoe with my son, Breanndan, as he lightens things up (not excluding the load) with his out-there humour and his much-needed navigational skills.

  18. Dr. Denny Wilkins – Dr. Denny Wilkins professes journalism at a small, private university in the Northeast. He has climbed, hiked, kayaked, photographed, skied, and otherwise meandered aimlessly throughout the American West for decades. He has degrees in geology, environmental studies, and communication — and has tried to make use of them as a co-founder of the progressive cultural blog ScholarsandRogues.com. He’s broadly interested in how the world works and why it works that way. He hates writing, although he does like having written well.

  22. Margaret Lynette Sharp – Sydney, Australia – I studied Short Story Writing and Freelance Journalism for a total of five years when I was younger, but it's only lately that I've tried to make a go of it as a professional. I have written eleven books now, all published by Amazon Kindle, and most also published as paperbacks by Createspace and available on the Amazon web-site. Several Sydney libraries have copies of some volumes, and they are currently on loan.My books are all listed by Goodreads. The total number of ratings of my titles there is in excess of 80, with an average of 4.4 stars. I am happily married to Ronald Sharp, the creator of the Grand Organ in the Concert Hall of the Sydney Opera House. He has consistently encouraged me to write, and has spent much time in editing, compiling, and designing the covers of each book. I'm keen on swimming, love animals, and appreciate good music and art.

    Lovely and very unusual! 🙂

  23. kenneturner – 3481 N Country Club Vista, Tucson, AZ 85750 – . . . For some years, maybe all my life, I have been infatuated with a need for rational understanding and explanation. It is a daily pursuit from which I will never run out of intellectual work, or at least never be at a loss for words at a cocktail party. My place is that which I have walked in person and know the weather at a given time of year, know a lot of the critters, and know a lot of the people -- maybe not always by name. My photographs are easy to comprehend, which is not always true with my art and poetry. If a reader doesn't understand a poem, read it again and listen to it. Like life, exposure to it is part of its power. I'm looking forward to a new Neolithic age combining the love of nature, sex, and life based on mythical truths.

  28. MJF Images – American Pacific Northwest – A photographer and writer, I have been a geologist and also a science teacher in the past. I am a diehard explorer, traveler, and nature lover who lives in Portland, Oregon. I'm curious and excited about most things around me, especially people, natural science and diverse cultures. My photography tends toward landscape, nature/wildlife, and people (candid and lifestyle). But I'm always exploring new subjects. This blog will be about the story behind the pictures, but not generally about the photography behind the pictures. There will be talk of photo techniques only on Friday Foto Talk installments. Most times I will feature aspects of the places and people themselves, not like so many blogs just the photography. I'll be giving some practical advice on visiting the areas I photograph, so it might look a bit like a travel blog at times. But I will also go into the geology for landscapes, into natural history for wildlife and nature, into culture both modern and ancient for travel/people, and so on. I won't be giving you a blow-by-blow on how I took the picture, and never will I be a cheerleader for a certain type of gear, don't worry. I hope you enjoy it, and remember, keep exploring this beautiful world we share, and take good care of it too!
