  3. jacscottstudio – Hello! I am a visual artist focusing on issue-based work that investigates the environmental issues behind fractured realities. Exploring the enigma of our existence, revealed in our ways of being, our relationship with our environs and the marks we leave behind is my preoccupation. My predilection for collaborations with scientists and geographers has led to an informed body of work that reflects a world without a sense of equilibrium. The work aims to have an oblique potency that acknowledges the world’s dark underbelly, whilst acting as a catalyst for igniting debate. I am an innate researcher who has not lost the infantile curiosity and wonder about the world - the questions and answers are in flux - I appreciate other people's viewpoints so please comment on posts that interest you - I am always happy to hear constructive criticism about my artworks and hear more information about and/or debate issues I raise. Both as metaphor and in material selection, my artistic responses focus on brooding degradation: peeling layers inviting a meditation on the narrative exposed. I try not to create more stuff – our world is already over-stuffed – so I reuse and transform objects whenever possible to satisfy my environmental conscience. This blog was initially started to complement my residency at University of Central Lancashire in Britain where I was working with scientists in the School of Built and Natural Environment examining the hidden impacts of our way of life. The residency has now ended but due to the public response I aim to continue it as long as people are interested in my art practice. Thank you for taking the time to visit my blog.   4. Janet Holt – Bald Head Island, NC – I am on a journey of discovery. One that involves discovering the world around me and discovering myself. I have found that using a camera is making this process of discovery much more enjoyable. I trust you will enjoy it as well. My passion for all animals knows no bounds, but it is the parrot that has caught my heart! I am now involved in a campaign to help bring parrots in the wild back into their normal existence! The Indonesian Parrot Project is first on my list, and with a little help from our friends we will bring the Abotti Cockatoo back into a full, strong life in their natural habitat.

  5. Wildersoul – New Zealand – Hi, I'm Anasera and this is my Wildersoul Colouring Book blog, free online colouring book. I would love to encourage you all to express what's truly inside, especially as a way to heal from trauma. In 2013 I started uploading free colouring pictures to the blog, and after 6 months had over 365 colouring pictures available for colourers worldwide. I started on a mission to publish a book, and make colouring pictures available for sale from the blog. The whole history unfolds if you delve deep into the beginnings of the blog. After a break away to get married and watch my fledgling teens leave the nest, I have returned in 2016 with a world-first "do-it-yourself colouring book" to offer to people as a self-help art therapy and education resource. WordPress has provided a fantastic thing called "Portfolios" and I am finally able to split my blog into sections, one for a plain blog, one for all of the free colouring images in one place for you to browse through and pick a picture to colour from the huge selection, and one to showcase images relating to the do-it-yourself colouring book.     I love the effect of a strong wind blowing shown by the angles of leaf, and tree trunks, and the white-out background. Seems like the leaf has been holding on for dear life all winter! The poem is integrally part of the photo and I really like that.

  6. maureenc – south east Queensland – Supposedly retired ,I fit my fabric and fibre fanaticism in with sharing my life with , family and friends and a few other activities My star sign is Cancer;I love being near the ocean and live on the shores of Moreton Bay in SEQ;I enjoy listening to music of many genre,but prefer instrumental to vocal; Reading....I always have a couple of books and magazines on the "go" simultaneously;

  14. melodylowes – I am actually a bit of a mess. But in the mess, I’m finding security in knowing I am chosen, I am forgiven, and I matter.   15. lavendermoongirl – I am inspired by the natural world and walking with my dogs every day. A spiritual person, Reiki Master with a love of crystals, aromatherapy and flower essences. A poet, writer and photographer, writing daily in response to my encounters with nature. An artist, intuitive, mother, daughter, wife and friend. I have a B.A Honours degree in Writing & Publishing and English & Literature, gained when I was a single mum. Past careers include: Art Director in Advertising, Lecturer of English, Communication and Journalism studies and CLAN (City literacy and numeracy) tutor for the Scottish government, Health and Literacy Project Tutor and learning advisor(Scottish NHS, CLAN partner) and WEA (workers education association) Adult literacy tutor. He has climbed, hiked, kayaked, photographed, skied, and otherwise meandered aimlessly throughout the American West for decades. He has degrees in geology, environmental studies, and communication — and has tried to make use of them as a co-founder of the progressive cultural blog ScholarsandRogues.com.
