up, up, up
this is worship
side by side
salute the sun
Each blossom in the spire
is a devotion
to the day.
with flower spires.
Quaker bonnets hold the world
in the light with their prayer
of pale blue and yellow.
How glorious the view
from the cathedral that is nature.
The bench by the pond
my meeting place with God.
Beneath the shroud of early morning mist
all creatures and growing things pause
and give thanks for the coming day.
Emerging from his burrow
the first thing the chipmunk does
is salute the sun
The shadow of a trinity of trees across rock
marks one of many spots to worship in the woods.
Antlers embrace pods from the Japanese maple tree,
a shrine to the seasons of life and bounty of Sunday Mountain,
a place to worship.
