the sky below
the sky

the precise location
of each passing moment

tries again and again
to make the cold hold

on the ready

where winter will rest

a whisper now
winter’s quiet inches in

while defiant violet
flaunts her ruffled skirts

a wintry day
the willow weeps

tail feathers
dipped in sunshine
rising on the updraft of spring

sunlight and shadows
traverse
the pristine field
Glimpse
a space in the rock wall
like a portal to the future
provides a glimpse of green

the trunk
entwined and crossed
a wish for old forest growth
And
crystals and petals
drift and bloom
shimmer and flower
