December rain erased the snow
leaving palisades in the misty midst of grey

our gentle giant
the first to wear snow
shows us how the season will go

morning fog rolls out
revealing the days
new colors

like the sun in July
yellow spreads across the field

fertile fields reside
along the river’s sides
