Entwined

Two trunks separated only by
a whisper of wind
a ray of light.

Before the sun fully rises
the neighbor’s light across the way
is my kind companion in morning’s solitude.

light and dark
waltz across
the hilltops

Before the burst of color
fall appears in those moments just before twilight
and presents a world illuminated from within.

First light pierces through
the nocturnal shade
and reveals one more summer’s day.

leaves harmonize
with shadow and light
in the stillness resides everything

Amidst all the green
a single white flame flickers
lighting the path.

As dusk descends a storm approaches,
celestial light graces the trees
and shelters the shadow of the house.

In the midst of winter,
the willow shines its golden light.
This is where the fairies dance at night.

Morning light
sings my heart’s song.

If I could imagine the threshold to heaven
it would appear as did this dawn
with depth and light beyond mortal comprehension.

Hope is the energy that beats the heart.
Light is its manifestation.
Love fills the space in between.

In a certain slant of light
one can see past what is there
and into the possibilities of what could be.
