Surfacing

From the cold, dark earth
emerges the noble daffodil
shouldering its way to the sun.

Yield

The garden’s harvested bounty
carries a weary spirit towards spring
in the colors of dried petals and the promise of seeds.

Our Two Chairs

Let us take our willow seats
and savor a few more garden moments with the geraniums
before the the frost comes and sends us all inside.

Panta rhei

The flower has turned to pod
the warmth of the sun belies the bite in the breeze
everything flows.

Coral

Geranium makes the garden’s coral
a blossom so shimmery, fresh and delicate
it might have come from the ocean floor.

Belonging

oh to be a bud in the cluster
a part of a tribe
together in the center of life’s circle.

Balm

There is no room for worry
amidst all the color and beauty.
Come and stay awhile.

Labor of Love

There is a magic garden
where everyone is welcome
to come and take what they need
be it faith or flowers.
