All On One Fine Day

cardinal in the tree top
a hawk gliding home
the eagle riding thermals

ground bound
my spirit soars
in tandem with their flight

you are an arrow
piercing
the foreboding sky

silently you rise
taking my spirit
with you

all the edges softened
blending into one another
flying and floating both

leap of faith
the heron’s flight
all my dreams are carried

lift off
is the miracle
grace is the flight

tail feathers
dipped in sunshine
rising on the updraft of spring
