desire – Leaf And Twig

Coupling

lilac leaf buds
a double flamed torch
shimmering with desire for spring

contrary to their neat rows
the seedlings desire
of life is feral

the colors of new leaves
and their unfolding shapes
devising a composition of spring

the worn path
a line of desire
made known

or perhaps a hummingbird
I’m a moth
with aspirations

the river desires movement
and uses all its wiles
to dodge stillness

eternal
desire to be
growing

demanding attention
birch tree antlers
stand at the field

berries quench
my January thirst
for color

October morning
the landscape’s poem
told in color and light

the brook breaks free
and runs for the river
longing to unite with the sea

mended fence
the paddock waits
for green grass and grazing

it is dreams
that stretch
our reach

the desire for spring
burns in the bush

Eternal is the longing to be on the other side.

The afternoon sky’s hues of blue
momentarily quenched my thirst for Spring.
