  1. chelawriter – I thought retirement would give me more time to write, but as with may others, my experience of retirement so far is that it is far busier than my employment years. Two wild fires with evacuations and extensive damage to my home have not helped. Repairs are almost complete, and fingers crossed things will settle down so I can post more often.

A greeter we have too few of in our desert area. After the lilacs and the daffodils there is a hiatus, only greening trees ( if we get any rain) until flowering fruit trees bring color. Up here at 7000 feet (Denver stop boasting of your mere mile) it was 34 degrees two nights ago. We don’t want those flowers too early or there will be no fruit. Those who have carefully tended rose bushes will see the flowers mid-June. And pray they escape the inevitable summer hail.
All of which makes whatever, whomever brings floral color to us most precious.

    1. Thank you for that beautiful portrait of where you live Niki. Yes – all the more precious. We were into the 90’s two days ago (YIKES) and back into the 30’s overnight.
How is your garden going? I hope it is bring you joy. The garden is an act of faith – a source of solace. Be well!

  3. judybarton – Still in love, complicated, almost stupid, interested to recognize herself. "Up to the age of eighteen years old everybody writes poems; after, only two categories of people may continue to do it: poets and idiots." (Benedetto Croce). Obviously I do not consider myself a poet.

    Me too! 🙂
