  2. Consciousness is an awareness of something within oneself. How perfect a juxtaposition your written words Cathy as one must “reflect” upon the sometimes “photographic reality” of life in order to even have an awareness of what lies deep within the darkness of oneself. It is in the “between” where our essence resides. Thank you for the understanding of a piece of myself you awakened in me this morning.

    1. Carrie Staples – United States – Author, illustrator of "The Yarn Animal Book", probably the only craft book with instructions for making such unique yarn animals as an orangutan, an ant eater, a llama and a star-nosed mole and "The Single Minded Prince, a fairy tale for all ages about a boy and a pirate captain who both misbehave. The books and a booklet series based on each different yarn craft topic covered in "The Yarn Animal Book" (pompoms and other really easy yarn crafts, knitting, crocheting, rya, needlepoint and embroidery), are available on Amazon and Kindle.

      Lovely, penetrating comment. Thank you!

  3. Joan – Richmond, Virginia – A therapist now for over 25 years, I started this blog when several aspects of myself converged: my reading self who was immersed in Reeve Lindbergh's FORWARD FROM HERE; my writing self who had just completed a poem, "The Shed"; my resting self who was enjoying the slower pace of a long weekend; and my relational self who wanted to share my ponderings and wanderings.

    Catherine Arcolio’s blog, leafandtwig.wordpress.com,
joins image and word in a beautiful and often profound way. It is always a source of pleasure.

  6. judybarton – Still in love, complicated, almost stupid, interested to recognize herself. "Up to the age of eighteen years old everybody writes poems; after, only two categories of people may continue to do it: poets and idiots." (Benedetto Croce). Obviously I do not consider myself a poet.

Mirrors … how many mirrors in my life? Mirrors and symmetries are often full of sense and they are too real structures in our lives…to read into

  7. chelawriter – I remain committed to making a hobby - writing - into a career with one novel being marketed to publishers, lots of short pieces coming and going, another novel getting underway, and also a research project on creativity and coping with the effects of Parkinson's Disease.

    Beautifully expressed and imaged

  8. LuAnne Holder – Michigan, USA – I recently retired from professional careers centered on writing and education in some combination - writing professor, instructional designer, tech writer, English teacher. I sprinkled in writing for pleasure when I found spare time between work, raising kids, being a responsible adult, tap dancing and zumba. Now that I am retired, I write every day, journaling with my morning coffee, polishing poems in the afternoon, and meeting with writer's groups at night. Writing encourages me to notice details, physical details of nature, social details of daily interactions, and spiritual details of trying to live a connected life within this astounding universe.
    LuAnne Holder says:

So much wisdom in just a few words.
