    1. pastpeter – Sometime Senior Scientist, sometime Senior Pastor, now senior citizen, happily retired and living once again on Long Island, New York – the place people always want to leave but always come back to. Our retirement years have taken Marian and me to mid-coast Maine (A Maine Winter), to the New Hampshire Lakes region (A New Hampshire Journal), and then back to Long Island, where we had spent the 17 “best years of our lives” (Past Pastoring). We loved the north country, but are so glad to be “Home” (Long Islanders).

Dicentra – “Dutchmans breeches” after the shape of the flower. Native woodland plant in the northeast.

We have a creeper here known as Dutchman’s pipe(shaped like a Meerschaum pipe) but the Dutchman’s breeches I have never seen or heard of.

  3. lindseykiser – Kentucky, United States – LINDSEY KISER is a visual artist exploring our connection to the land through her works in acrylic and scratchboard. Appointed by Kentucky Gov. Matt Bevin to the Kentucky Arts Council, she has enjoyed the detail, light, and drama that may be captured in the unforgiving scratchboard medium for over 25 years and is an active member of and elected board member serving the International Society of Scratchboard Artists.

What is your latitude? Your spring is about a month and a half later than ours.

I’ve enjoyed this blog so much! Your poems are fresh and inspired! I look forward to them in my inbox among the many, many corporate newsletters. You’ve reminded me that I can enjoy poetry again. It’s much more fun than in high school when it’s grueling to dissect the poems for imagery, tone, cadence, etc. To be fair, there are several artistic blogs that interest me, but your ability to parse something meaningful down to just a few words has held my interest. We live in an overwhelming time!

    1. I’m in Northern New Hampshire. We’ve had quite a delayed and lingering spring this year. Thank you so much for your kind words.

    2. We live in overwhelming times indeed.

The power of meditation and enlightenment blossoms into the sweetest poetry. You will observe that Dhammapada is more of poetry…

      Namaste.

  4. derrickjknight – UK – I am an octogenarian enjoying rambling physically and photographing what I see, and rambling in my head as memories are triggered. I also ramble through a lifetime's photographs. In these later years much rambling is done in a car.
