joy and sorrow

still the garden will emerge
soak up the sun when you can

in the stillness
and the silence
I meet meaning

bestowed
upon Buddha
a headdress of iris

I’ll do
what I want
is his only thought

mother
in granite
nature her child

buddha
in the morning sun
all is one

the peony
blooms
for Buddha

iris bow
sun shines
season’s first offering

community gathers
in the shadow
of faith

guardian at the gate
the iron lab
waits

at the Buddha’s suggestion
the wind and tree united
to place a reminder of faith
