My literary creations include short stories, poetry and musings in English, Hindi and Gujarati. My expressions speak minutely about little things in life, peace amongst chaos and positivity through feather light expressions and a pinch of humor. Being a creative writing blogger who proudly flaunts being a doting father of the world’s naughtiest daughter, I am often referred to as a source of motivation and positivity amongst friends. It is better done than said. So, why don't you take a tour around my blog to know me more! Cheers! :)

  4. spiritualdragonfly – Eastern Shore – I WANT OUT OF LABELS. I DON'T WANT MY WHOLE LIFE CRAMMED INTO A SINGLE WORD, OR STORY. I WANT TO FIND SOMETHING ELSE, UNKNOWABLE, SOME PLACE TO BE THAT'S NOT ON THE MAP. A REAL ADVENTURE. A MYSTERY. A BLANK. UNKNOWN. UNDEFINED"(Chuck Palahniuk) *************** So, I've started my 'ABOUT' page with this particular quote because I feel it's a pretty good fit for me. Every day of our lives is a blank slate, a new beginning that we get to fill......Each day I'm evolving, so to try and tell you who I am is going to change on any given day. One day I'm spirited and wild, the next solemn. One day I'm anxious, another I'm full of piss and vinegar. I guess you could say I am a Hodge Podge....living a sometimes beautifully chaotic, yet simple life that I choose to share with you......

  7. I suspect this might be part of the reason Annie Dillard built herself a writing studio where her desk faced a concrete block wall. Who could resist temptation like this?

  8. simon7banks – Harwich, UK – I write poems and stories, often mystical or fantastical. I believe very strongly that poetry is an art of the spoken word, so the sound of the words is important: so please say my poems aloud, if only in your head. I live in the U.K., in Harwich, Essex, but have worked in Kenya and Finland, and travelled to many other places. This is my literary blog. I'm also a Liberal Democrat political activist, birder, long-distance trail walker, real ale drinker and Quaker.

  15. 2ndhalfolife – In the second (or really third?) half of my life now. Moving into the more crone stage: out of my head, into my soul. My magic is returning after many years of having lost it to the streets of life. There have been some very dark times, but these have made my journey rich with the stuff of possibility. Because out of darkness has come the glittering beauty of illumination. It has come with struggle and toil, and not without help--but I am here, and I am mostly in tact, and I'm here to share the rest of this journey with you all if you care to join me.......
    2ndhalfolife says:

Anyone would love a view like that!!

  16. Mary Kendall – North Carolina, USA – Thanks for stopping by my blog. My work has been published in both print and online journals, and my chapbook, Erasing the Doubt was published in April 2015 by Finishing Line Press. I've also co-authored a book, A Giving Garden (©2009) along with friend and photographer, Debbie Suggs. In the fall of 2023, my third book, The Last Camellia, will be published by Velvet Dusk Publishing. Stay tuned for more details. For the past eight years or so, I've focused mostly on writing Japanese short form poetry in English. For me, this is mainly haiku, senryu, tanka and various sequences that include collaborative poetry. I have published many of my poems (see individual years in the header of this blog) in both print and online journals. I am a member of the North Carolina Haiku Society, a group consisting of so many outstanding writers. Our zoom meetups during the pandemic were life saving. The Archives of this blog go back to July, 2014. These earlier poems are "regular" long form poetry. I hope you will enjoy reading my work.
    Mary Kendall says:

Glorious, inviting and even a bit haunting.
