Out of curiosity, was it a cloudy day when this was taken?

(Everytime WP makes a change somewhere, the latest with their Reader -it seems to mess up something else. Hope you are having a wonderful season – cheers, Jules)

    1. You too Jules! And I hear you about the ‘improvements” that have disabled line breaks 🙁

      1. I’m not sure what ‘line breaks’ you are talking about. I still write in my own documents and copy and past in HTML in the old WP because I don’t like the extra spaces in the New and Improved WP option of posting. Is that what you mean?

        Hugs, ~Jules

      2. Oh! Good tip Jules. I’ll be doing that now. This line break thing is another issue with the theme I’m using and then new reader. It’s been sent “to the engineers”. Best & hugs, Seedbud

      3. I used to flip through the themes. I might yet, But I’m used to how things work with what I have. There might be easier ways… but eek. Too many changes.

One thing is for certain – If you work in your own programs and then copy and paste you will always have your ‘copy’. I knew a person who had only worked within the ‘blog’ settings and well, there was a problem and ‘poof’ everything was lost. Every once in a while I get Techy hubby to back up my stuff now on a thumb drive too. Just in case.

Hugs, to you too my friend. ~Jules

  6. dennyho – A Virginia native, I was born in RVA. In my twenties I married and moved to SoCal where I learned to love a new landscape, was forced to drop my ever present southern 'ma'am', and discovered the necessity of honing my (lacking) map skills. In due time I found myself in C'bus where our daughter arrived and gladly I put myself second. Next city on tour was the 'Burgh (as in PA) and here we welcomed our son. Many years later, I now reside in E'ville, Virginia, Earlysville for those of you who may not know of my sleepy little hamlet resting within Charlottesville in the piedmont of the Blue Ridge Mountains. As I look back over the the abbreviated stops along my life's highway I know I've stepped foot in every spot, met every person, and experienced every high and low for exacting yet unknown reasons bringing me to where I am today. The who I am today is because I travelled that highway, made those stops, and dared to believe I do have it all.

  7. Inigo Scribbles – Writing is a way to release emotions, understand the internal struggle of one's psyche, express thoughts on views normal orations could not describe. When trying to navigate this thing called life, poetry and spoken word are helping me build an atlas. Not only that, but it has allowed me to meet amazing individuals and see the world's vibrant colors. So while you're here, stick around, have fun, let me know if you like something, and hopefully my writing is enjoyable haha. Let's build this atlas together :)

Beautiful and relaxing poem and picture

  8. Gretchen Del Rio – Crestline, California, USA – I first discovered the magic of water based colors when many years ago I began to paint with procion dyes on silk. I loved the unexpected quality of the process. It was so exciting to never be sure what the colors and water would combine to produce. It seemed as though the medium had its own passion. Painting with watercolors and paper is much the same. I love the color combinations and separations that occur spontaneously as the color floats on the water. You can never totally predict what effect will result. If you try to control the medium too much, your painting will be very tight losing its aliveness. The artist must be bold and decisive or the work will not be clear and fresh. It is really like a dance. It becomes a controlled folly in knowing when to let go and when to take charge of the direction that the painting is taking. The images that I paint reflect my emotions and are expression of my life experience. They are not extensively planned, but rather evolve as the painting progresses. I am always surprised by the end result since it comes into being because of what the medium and emotion has suggested. The paintings are from my heart and I always fall in love with the subject. I believe that we are all connected and, if an image touches you, it is because we all have the same heart even though our paths may be different. Most of all, painting what I paint makes me happy. The paintings are my own path unfolding. They are an opening door for me and contain my own passion for life.
    Gretchen Del Rio says:

    Deja Vu with this one.

  9. Rebecca Nolda – New Mexico – I am an artist who is intrigued by patterns, layers of images, and color. I work in mixed media, acrylics, and collage and find that each medium gives me a different way to explore the stuff that pops up in my head.
    Rebecca Nolda says:

Thanks for creating moments to stop…both with your photographs and your poetry. Beautiful!

  10. ddaline – Still have first story I wrote, at about age 5, “Dirterella,” which I vaguely remember thinking was a clever take-off on “Cinderella.” At age 10, my play “Adventures in Afghanistan” was given a cold reading by my 6th grade class. A very cold reading. Since then, short stories, short novels, short plays, which led me to come up with the name of my blog, "A Woman of Few Words," which I also thought was clever. Some things never change…
    ddaline says:

I wish we were so green here— serene

  12. chelawriter – I thought retirement would give me more time to write, but as with may others, my experience of retirement so far is that it is far busier than my employment years. Two wild fires with evacuations and extensive damage to my home have not helped. Repairs are almost complete, and fingers crossed things will settle down so I can post more often.
